Why making a will matters

Did you know that, according to notarial statistics, only 15% of people in Spain make a will before they die?
This means that a large part of the population does not decide what will happen to their assets, which can lead to disputes between relatives when the time comes.
The simplest way to avoid these problems is to make a will, stating who will receive your property and belongings when you die. The more detailed the will, the less room there will be for conflict between the heirs. It is important to set out who the beneficiaries are, in what capacity each of them inherits, what they will receive and in what proportion.
For a will to be effective, it needs good planning that takes into account the personal and financial circumstances of both the testator and the beneficiaries.
That way, the inheritance can be handled smoothly in the future.
