What data we process and why

We process the data you give us when you call us, write to us by email or WhatsApp, or fill in a form on this website (your name, phone number, email address and whatever information you choose to share about your enquiry), for the following purposes:

To answer your enquiry and get in touch with you.
To prepare a quotation and, if you instruct us, to provide our legal services.
To comply with the firm’s legal obligations.

We do not make automated decisions or build profiles with your data, and we will not send you marketing communications without your consent.

Legal basis

Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract when you make an enquiry and, where applicable, the performance of our engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your consent, when you write to us or tick the box on the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Compliance with legal obligations, such as tax or anti-money-laundering rules (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

How long we keep it

Data relating to an enquiry that does not lead to an engagement is kept for as long as needed to deal with it and for no more than one year. Client data is kept for the duration of the engagement and, afterwards, for the periods required by law and the limitation periods for any possible liability.

We do not disclose your data to third parties unless required by law. We are assisted by providers that process data on the firm’s behalf under data processing agreements: website hosting (Vercel Inc.), email (Google) and the technical handling of the contact form. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards required by the GDPR (an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).

Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to info@ariasadvocats.com or by post to C/ Hercegovina, 33, baixos, 08006 Barcelona, Spain. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. In addition, all the information you entrust to us is protected by lawyers’ professional secrecy.
